WE WILL SOAR TO NEW HEIGHTS THIS YEAR!!!
* NOTE TO 3rd, 5th and 8th grade STUDENTS REQUIRED TO TAKE THE CRCT RETEST FOR PROMOTION: Any parent whose child took the CRCT Retest on May 28th and/or 29th, should have received your child's results by now. If you are interested in appealing the results, please put your request in writing to me and leave the letter at the school. Ms. Schofe will get the appeals to me and I will begin scheduling the meetings for the week of July 13th, as teachers are available. Please include a phone number where you can be reached.
I hope that you all are having a wonderful and safe summer!!! Please check our school calendar, it will be updated frequently. While you all rest and enjoy the summer activities (and sun), we are already gearing up for the 2009-2010 school year!
Teachers and administration are attending professional training in: America's Choice Implementation of Math and Literacy in supporting GA Performance Standards, Math and Science Workshops, Schoolwide Character Development and recognition training, and more, throughout the months of June and July. Mrs. Brown, Literacy Coach and Ms. Hamilton, our new Math Coach attended extensive training early in June to learn more strategies to support teachers to provide the best possible learning environment for (y)our children.
Most of this training is NOT REQUIRED! Teachers want to be "THE BEST" so our students perform to the best of their capabilities!!! We want ALL OF OUR STUDENTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL!!!
Following our summer training, supply lists requests will be available:July 6th. We will place lists in several locations for your convenience: CYS, Walmart, Commissary, Website and posted at the school.
Thanks Mrs. Horoho, Mrs. Capps and Ms. Capps for taking time to come in and assist in organizing the FPS School Council for next year.
Eisenhower Hospital is already scheduling the required screenings and forms for students for next year. Remember if your child was missing any documents last year, they will be required before registration this year.
BE SURE YOUR CHILDREN ARE READING!!! 1st-2nd graders work on Math facts addition and subtraction; 3rd graders -multiplication facts; 4th graders multiplication and division facts. Go to the recommended websites.
